# Open a Donor-Advised Fund

> Your Donor-Advised Fund on Endaoment

## What is a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?

A DAF is a personalized charitable account that allows you to flexibly [make donations](/donors/getting-started/donating-to-a-fund) and [recommend grants](/donors/getting-started/recommending-grants) to your favorite nonprofits. Endaoment DAFs also allow you to grow DAF capital through [investment portfolios](/donors/getting-started/managing-portfolio-positions) and [collaborate](/donors/getting-started/collaborating-on-a-fund) with trusted advisors and family members on your DAF. There is no minimum required to open a fund, and the more you donate, the lower your [one-time processing fee](/donors/resources/fee-schedule).

<Note>
  If you click `Community`, you'll be redirected to a [community fund application form](https://endaoment.typeform.com/communities) so we can review for compliance with community fund policies and get in touch with you.
