Advising Client DAF Assets

Advisor-managed portfolios allow you to manage your clients’ portfolio positions on your own platform with a separate account for each DAF.

Automatically Set Up

In most cases, new advisor-managed DAFs are automatically configured with:
  • 100% Allocation: Assets initially allocated entirely to your management
  • Shell Account Creation: Dedicated accounts at your existing broker-dealer
  • Platform Integration: Seamless management through your current trading system
  • Custom Fee Structure: Ability to configure your own management fees within the AMP setup

Requesting a Portfolio

If setting up an AMP was not automatically configured, the donor can request a portfolio from their fund page by clicking the Request Advisor-Managed Portfolio button and completing the form. The advisor may also reach out to us directly to request a portfolio. See below for a video demonstration of how to request an Advisor Managed Portfolio.

Managing a Portfolio

The advisor or manager can manage the portfolio as in normal Portfolio Management.
All Advisor-Managed Portfolios must maintain current monthly statements and, where private markets exposure is requested, a Prohibited Persons Questionnaire (PPQ) on file, refreshed annually, to support anti–prohibited benefit and UBIT compliance.
See below for a video demonstration of how to find and edit an Advisor Managed Portfolio.

Removing a Portfolio

The donor can remove the portfolio at any time by setting the allocation percentage to 0%.

Compliance Requirements

Advisors managing client DAF assets must complete compliance documentation to ensure regulatory adherence. For complete details, including instructions, FAQ, and submission requirements, please see the Prohibited Persons/Entities Questionnaire documentation.
