Accepted Assets

At Endaoment, we accept a diverse range of assets - from cash, stock, to complex assets and just about every token imaginable. We handle all currency conversions, as donating assets in their original form is typically the most efficient means of receiving a larger tax deduction*.

Here’s a breakdown of the assets we accept and how each process works:

Gifted Asset: Cryptocurrency

Cryptocurrency donations can potentially lead to outsized tax deductions, as you may be able to deduct the Fair-Market Value (FMV)* of the gifted asset if you’ve held that asset for longer than one year. Crypto transfers are near instantaneous, settling instantly if on an EVM compatible chain, and within 1 business day if on a non-EVM compatible chain.

What to Expect:

• If donating EVM-compatible cryptocurrency, we’ll programmatically generate a tax receipt for you and send it via email if requested. You can view all receipting etherscan via your dashboard.
• If donating non-EVM-compatible cryptocurrency or making an OTC gift, the transaction receipt will be sent as the asset is liquidated, within 1 business day after it’s been received.

Gifted Asset: Stock

Stock donations allow you to donate equity and can potentially lead to outsized tax deductions, as you may be able to deduct the Fair-Market Value (FMV)* of the gifted asset if you’ve held that asset for longer than one year. As stock transfers are conducted through brokerages, donations of stock can take between 1-2 weeks to complete.

After completing the stock giving flow in the Endaoment application, paperwork will be sent to your brokerage to initiate the transfer process. Please see below for our stock receiving information:

Sell-Over-Time: Custom Donation Scheduling and Liquidation

Donors can leverage “Sell-Over-Time” to customize a donation liquidation schedule to align with optimal market conditions. This feature is specific to donations of cryptocurrency, stock, or bespoke assets where strategic timing can maximize impact.

We will work together to determine a final agreement that outlines the terms and conditions of the liquidation process, including the timing, frequency, and method(s) of liquidation. After signature, we will then manage the liquidation accordingly and can provide regular updates upon request.

Limitations on Custom Liquidation

While we strive to accommodate your preferred liquidation schedule, based on the overall size of the donation, the asset liquidity, and the feasibility of the proposed schedule, we may need to request alterations to the proposed schedule in order to ensure that the liquidation process is efficient and effective.

Gifted Asset: Cash

Cash donations are simple, straightforward, and take between 24-48 hours to complete based on the type of transfer. We accept cash transfers through either your credit card, payment app, or bank account:

Credit Card Donations

• Donations via credit card are processed through Stripe.
• All major credit card providers are accepted:
  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Discover

Payment Application Donations

• Donations via payment applications are processed through Stripe.
• Most major apps are supported:
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay
  • Cash App Pay

Bank Account Donations

• Direct bank transfers are processed via Stripe.
• Be aware that processing times may vary depending on the transfer method, which is left up to the sending bank.

• Fees vary depending on the method of donation chosen; international transactions or transactions involving currency conversion cost extra.
• As we receive the donated cash, we’ll programmatically generate a tax receipt for you and send it via email if requested.
